Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
1. Who we are
Cyentrix (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates cyentrix.com, a free cybersecurity assessment site. This policy explains what data we collect when you visit cyentrix.com and how we use it.
2. What we collect
Assessment responses. When you complete an assessment, your answers and resulting score are processed to generate your report. If you don’t provide an email, we don’t store your responses on our servers.
Email address (optional). If you ask for a detailed report PDF or sign up for updates, we store the email address you give us so we can deliver the report and (if you opt in) send occasional updates.
Comments. If you leave a comment on a blog post, we store the name, email and message you submit, plus your IP address and browser user agent (standard WordPress behaviour) to help spam protection.
Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent) for security and uptime monitoring. These logs rotate automatically.
3. What we don’t collect
- We do not require an account to take any assessment.
- We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
- We do not sell or share your data with marketers.
- We do not store credit card details (we have no paid features at this time).
4. Cookies
We use a minimal set of cookies, mostly for site functionality (e.g. remembering that you’ve dismissed a banner). We may also use Google Analytics or a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand which assessments and articles are most useful. You can opt out via your browser settings.
5. Email delivery
If you give us an email to receive a report, we deliver it using a transactional email provider (e.g. Resend, Mailgun or similar). The provider receives the recipient address and message contents to deliver the email. We don’t share your email with anyone else.
6. How long we keep data
Email addresses are retained while you remain subscribed; you can request deletion at any time. Assessment responses tied to an email are retained for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Server logs rotate within 30 days.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data by emailing hello@cyentrix.com. We’ll respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We use HTTPS site-wide, hardened WordPress hosting with a web application firewall, and practise the boring fundamentals you’d expect from a cybersecurity site. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours and our data safe.
9. Children’s privacy
Cyentrix is intended for business and IT professionals. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
10. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify subscribers by email.
